One-day Medical Tour and Same-day Denture Delivery- Mobile Digital Denture Clinic & Oral Health Service Project

Taiwan is facing the major issues of aging, fewer children, and limited resources. The average life expectancy in Taiwan is increasing, but the average life expectancy of disadvantaged residents is decreasing, and the equitable distribution of health care resources is facing serious challenges. Taiwan's geography is characterized by mountainous and isolated areas, and it is still difficult to provide comprehensive care in terms of physician manpower and medical services in terms of accessibility.

In Nan'ao Township, Yilan County, the population ratio of dentists is 1:6015 (A dentist at Nan'ao Township official Health Center). Although there are some improvement programs, the number of services needed to provide aging and the different medical needs of the aging population, such as missing teeth and denture needs, traditional denture processing and manufacturing takes about a month for patients to get their teeth. Therefore, it is imperative to integrate the medical team, technology and care services to solve the patient's plight.

This project is designed as a "One-day medical tour and same-day denture delivery" - a mobile digital denture clinic & oral health clinic to serve the needs of the elders who live in rural areas with insufficient medical resources.

We will work with hospital dentists, dental school professors, and dental service students to form an integrated care team. We are also working with social enterprises and industry partners to provide public service in order to establish the future service module of digital dental care.
