Digitizing Africa's Informal Markets

share

As the world grows digitally dependent due to the pandemic, Africa's informal marketplaces are left behind due to the lack of technology required for vendors and small businesses to keep up pace with the global virtual transition. Populated by the marginalized majority, living on less than $5 a day, the marketplace is where over 500 million people across the continent trade to make a daily living. These spaces, heavily dependent on physical trade has been significantly disrupted by the pandemic, hindering vendors from daily trade and consequently, their daily bread.

We’re on a mission to digitize Africa's informal marketplaces through our digital stations in major markets across the continent. We meet vendors, artisans and small businesses where they are in the market and offer them access to our technology, online platform, photography, packaging and delivery services to successfully setup, sustain and manage their businesses online.

Our digital market stations are easy to scale with its mobile, compact, solar powered design that allows us efficiently root ourselves firmly into the Africa’s informal market ecosystem, serving its 1.2 billion people.
